The Story

                                                        
  She was pacing, rushing through the woods. The red and orange autumn leaves dancing with the wind. The hairs in her neck stood straight up and she was drenched in sweat. She knew something wasn’t right. Then, she heard a shot fire.
  Oh, no. She could have sworn Abby was right behind her. She raced back but it was too late. She knew she shouldn’t have come here. They’ve been after her, and now, they were hunting her down.
  Why, why did Abby have to go? She should have stayed out if this.
  “This is between me and them,” Ruby had told Abby.
  “I’m not letting you go by yourself! They’ll hunt you down and kill you!” Their argument lasted for what seemed like hours until finally, Abby had won. Dang it!
  She knew she shouldn’t have told Abby! Abby was her best friend though. And now…there was nothing she could do Ruby thought with tears racing down her face. She just lost her best friend, but she had to stay silent or they’d find her for sure. Ruby hadn’t had time to burry her so she just kept running…
